E. Martin Kuhn, 91, who resided with his daughter and son-in-law in Exton, PA, but was a long time resident of Lancaster, PA, passed on Thursday, May 5, 2016. Born in New Bloomfield, PA to Phillip and Florence Kuhn, he was a loving husband of 54 years to Evelyn Krodel Kuhn (deceased 1999).
Marty spent the last 26 years of his career as a salesman for Stiegel Printing. His trade was learned at Milton Hershey School: a place that became his home at a young age. The friends and brothers that Marty developed during these years remained instrumental throughout his life and motivated his service to the school's alumni association. Immediately following graduation, he entered the Marines Corps where he served as a Sergeant during WWII.
Marty was a 32nddegree Mason, a Shriner, and was involved with Relay for Life. He was an active member and elder emeritus of the Salem Hellers Evangelical Reformed Church.
He is survived by his three children: Sherry (husband Lowell Werley; Sumter, SC), Ruby (husband Charlie Tremblay; Exton, PA), and Ed Kuhn (wife Mary; Palm Bay, FL); 7 grandchildren: Craig, Chris, Marty, Alex, Anna, Stephanie, and Sam; a niece and 3 nephews; and his companion of 15 years, Marian Rettew of Millersville, PA. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Eunice Donohoe and Martha Shatto and a nephew.
Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Salem Evangelical Reformed Church Hellers, 2555 Horseshoe Rd., Lancaster. Interment: the adjoining cemetery.
