     Albert J. Howcroft, 96, of Leola, PA., passed away peacefully October 18th at the home of his daughter and son-in-law with whom he lived the last six years.

     Born in Adams, MA where he lived most of his life, he was the son of the late Frederick S. and Beatrice R. (Jacks) Howcroft. He was married to the late Phyllis Mahar in 1944.

     He served in the US Navy for three years during WWII and was discharged in 1945 as Chief Yeoman. Albert was employed for 40 years by W. R. Grace and Co. in Adams, MA as plant accountant. He was a lifelong member of St. Mark Episcopal Church in Adams where he served as Treasurer and Vestryman. He was also the Treasurer of former Harmony Federal Credit Union for 25 years.

     He is survived by: three daughters, Barbara (Lewis) Manwarren, Leola, PA., Judith Williams companion of Matthew Straub of Adams, MA, Kathy (Warren) Frey of Ft. Myers, FL; three sons, Albert Jr. of Belchertown, MA., Kenneth (Lisa) of Greeneville, TN., William companion of Wang Dong of Ferntree Gully, Australia; twelve grandchildren; nine great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased in death by his wife, two stillborn children and two brothers, Frederick and Robert.

     There will be a graveside service at a later date in Adams, MA, that will be officiated by Pastor Lewis Manwarren, son-in-law. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made if so desired to Lancaster Hospice & Community Care or Calvary Baptist Church, 405 Lincoln Ave, Lockport, NY, where he attended before moving to Leola.
