Lois Eby Kolb, 83, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2017 at Willow Valley Retirement Community.
Lois was a descendant of settlers who arrived in Pennsylvania in the 17th Century and was a lifelong resident of East Lampeter Township. She was born in September 1933 to the late Mildred Hess Eby and John Walter Eby.
Lois was the wife to the late Norman H. Kolb who was the president and owner of New Holland Sales Stables.
Lois was a registered nurse and graduate of Lancaster General School of Nursing in 1954; she worked for Lancaster General as a private duty nurse until her second child was born. She also worked at New Holland Sales Stable preparing the catalogs for the livestock auction. She was a member of the Calvary Church. Lois loved to garden and would host many events at her home for the Lancaster County Farm Woman. She also loved scrapbooking.
Lois was faithful, godly wife to her husband, a nurturing, loving mother to her 5 children, a warm doting grandmother to her 11 grandchildren and her 5 great-grandchildren. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
Lois is survived by: her 5 children, Dr. N. Randall Kolb, J. Richard Kolb married to Tracy, Colleen Mannon married to Jim, David Kolb married to Lexine, and Joseph Kolb; her siblings, Eleanor Showers married to Dr. Renald, and John Eby married to Beth.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, April 19 at Furman Home for Funerals, 59 W. Main St., Leola from 6:00pm-8:00pm and on Thursday, April 20 from 10:00 to 11:00 am at Calvary Church, 1501 Landis Valley Road, Lancaster. The funeral service will be Thursday at Calvary Church at 11:00 am with interment following in Hershey Mennonite Cemetery, Kinzers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Pennsylvania School of Health Sciences, Attn: Advancement Office, 850 Greenfield Road, Lancaster, PA 17601.
