     Norman R. Strenger, Sr., 87, of Ephrata, formerly of Leola, entered into rest on Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2024.  Born in Germantown, PA, he was the son of the late William T. Strenger and the late Irene (Griffin) Strenger Eisele.  He was the loving husband of Beatrice M. (Marthens) Strenger with whom he celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary in September.

     Mr. Strenger was a self-employed as a construction contractor for Norman R. Strenger & Son.  He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.  Norman was a member of First United Methodist Church, Ephrata and was involved in Boy Scouts of America as a scoutmaster and Eagle Scout mentor. He enjoyed hunting and the outdoors and was a long-time member of Circle A Rod & Gun Club. He was a jigsaw puzzle enthusiast and enjoyed viewing many sporting events especially the Lancaster Stormers and Pittsburgh Penguins. His great passion in life was serving others by organizing and participating in many relief mission trips to impoverished or disaster-stricken communities.

     He will be lovingly missed by:  his wife, Beatrice; son, Norman Richard, Jr. husband of Rae Ann Muckel Strenger, Ephrata; four grandchildren, Nathan (Nicole), Zachariah (Christena), Marlene and Katie; four great-grandchildren, Logan, Elora, Eden and Ever; siblings, Sandra wife of Ron Ream, Mount Joy, Eileen Freeman, NJ.  He was preceded in death by a brother, William T. Strenger.

     Funeral services will be held at Furman Home for Funerals, 59 W. Main Street, Leola on Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2024 at 2 PM with interment following in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Ephrata. The family will greet friends from 1 PM – 2 PM. Contributions may be made to Boy Scouts of America, Pennsylvania Dutch Council, 630 Janet Ave., #114, Lancaster, PA 17601.
