Merle David Stoltzfus, 72, of Richfield, was welcomed into Heaven to be with Jesus, November 11, 2024. Born in Lancaster Co., he was the son of the late LeRoy S. and Alta Kennel Stoltzfus.
He is survived by: his sister, Lois wife of William D. Graybill, Jr. of Mifflintown; a sister-in-law, Patti Stoltzfus of Fogelsville; a niece, Karen Graybill of Baltimore, MD; 6 nephews, Mervin Graybill and wife Janessa of Cocolamus, Dwayne Graybill and wife Tamara of Travelers Rest, SC, David Graybill and wife Melanie of Milton, Nicholas Stoltzfus and wife Meme of Birdsboro, Christian Stoltzfus and wife Carrie of Fort Worth, SC, Matthew Stoltzfus and wife Ashley of Allentown; 12 great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: 3 brothers, John K., Ronald L., LeRoy Stoltzfus, Jr.; a great-nephew, Brian Graybill.
Merle was a Mennonite. He attended Weavertown Mennonite School and Lancaster Mennonite High School. He was a farmer and also worked at a pallet shop. Merle loved Jesus and his family. He loved little children and babies. He liked animals, especially mules and horses. He enjoyed gardening and singing. A generous man, Merle gave to the poor and to dig many wells.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Merle’s memory may be made to Christian Aid Ministries, P.O. Box 360 Berlin, OH 44610 and designated for either the “Save a Life” program that provides food, medicine, etc. for babies and children, or the “Water for the World” program that provides clean water.
Funeral services will be held from Millwood Mennonite Church, 441 Amish Rd., Gap on Monday, November 18, 2024 at 10:30 am with interment following in the adjoining cemetery. The viewing will be held from 5 to 8 PM on Sunday at the Furman Home for Funerals, 59 W. Main St., Leola and from 10 to 10:30 am at the church on Monday.
