“Well done, good and faithful servant! Enter into the joy of your Lord.” – Matthew 25:23
With deep love and gratitude, we celebrate the life of Rev. Bruce H. Willier, 90, who was called home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, January 29, 2025. A devoted servant of Christ, Rev. Willier dedicated 57 years of his life to preaching the Gospel, shepherding God’s people, and living as a faithful witness of God’s grace.
Born in Pitman, PA, Rev. Willier experienced the transformative power of Christ at a young age. His unwavering faith and passion for ministry led him to pursue seminary at the Evangelical School of Theology in Myerstown, PA. He began his lifelong journey of service at the Herndon/Mandata charge and pastored faithfully at E.C. churches in Palmerton, Pottsville, Brownstown, and New Holland.
Beyond the pulpit, Rev. Willier was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished Pop-pop, and a true friend to many. His heart for people extended beyond the church walls by making friends everywhere he went. His words of encouragement, warm smile, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed but forever treasured.
Rev. Willier is now reunited in glory with those who have gone before him, including his beloved wife, Arfie M. Willier who passed away on Jan. 13, 2025; infant daughter, Melisa Lyn Willier; parents, Harry H. Willier and Emma (Heim) Willier; siblings, Francis Willier, Harry H. Willier Jr., Ruby Stehr, Eugene Willier, Freida Morgan, and Lydia Stehr. He leaves behind his children, Lynne A. Reph (Keith) and Bruce R. Willier (Barb); grandchildren, Jason Reph, Zachary Reph (Lanae), Alyssa (Reph) Eisenhart (Scott), Travis Willier, Allison (Willier) Hill (Ryan); as well as five sisters, Mary Brosius, Ruth Morgan, Emma Smink, Arlene Masser (Mark), and Nancy Willier; many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Rev. Willier’s life and ministry will be held on Friday, February 7, 2025 at Zion E.C. Church, 247 Zion Church Rd., Pitman PA. A visitation will take place at 10:00 AM followed by a service at 12:00 PM. Interment will be in St. Paul’s E.C. cemetery, Pitman.
Though our hearts grieve, we take comfort in knowing that he now rests in the arms of His Savior, rejoicing in the presence of the One he so faithfully served.
