Arlene K. Martin, 96, of Garden Spot Village, New Holland went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 6, 2024. She was married 61 years to Frank M. Martin prior to his death in 2009. Arlene was born in Quarryville, the daughter of the late Samuel F. and Kathryn Krantz Wiker.
She was a member of Strasburg Mennonite Church and had also attended Pine Grove Church in later years. Frank and Arlene operated a dairy farm in East Lampeter Township for many years. Arlene retired from working in the restaurant/hospitality industry.
Arlene will be lovingly missed by: her daughters, Janice, wife of Lamar Groff of New Holland and Joyce Hoover of Akron; daughter-in-law, Ruth Ann Curry Martin of Mount Joy; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; sister, Janet Ebersole; brother, Lester Wiker, husband of Leah. She was preceded in death by: a son, Harold L. Martin in 2015; sons-in-law, Erv S. Hoover in 2014, and Harvey K. Martin in 1997; sisters, Lois Wiker, Evelyn Hess Groff and Rhoda Mellinger.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Garden Spot Village in Mountain View and the staff in Springwood for the excellent care they provided to Arlene since 2020 and to the staff from Hospice and Community Care who assisted with her care in 2024. Services will be private. Interment: Strasburg Mennonite Cemetery.
