Betty J. Weaver, 77, of 896 Hornig Rd., Lancaster, passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2015. She was the loving wife of Norman E. Weaver. They were married on Oct. 13, 1963. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Clayton and Florence Herr and Alberta Herr Bruce.
Mrs. Weaver was a bank clerk for the Leola National Bank for 14 years and was a bookkeeper for Leola Family Health Center for 21 years. A 60 year plus member of Zion Lutheran Church, Leola, she was quite active in the choir; Sunday School; and assisted with bulletins and various committees. An avid reader, Betty enjoyed watching the Philadelphia Eagles, Phillies and the Baltimore Orioles. Also, she had a pinochle club with several lady friends which she really enjoyed.
She will also be lovingly missed by two daughters: Melissa wife of Donald Carl, York, Belinda wife of Steven Booth, Leola; three grandchildren; a sister, Pat wife of Robert Houck, Manheim. A son, Randall Clay Weaver preceded her in death.
The Celebration of Life Service will be Thursday, June 18, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church, 18 Quarry Rd., Leola with greeting time from 10-11 a.m. Interment: the adjoining cemetery.
