Christian S. Fisher passed away on May 1, 2015 at his home at Masonic Village, Elizabethtown. He was born in Gordonville to the late Ben and Annie Fisher. He was the husband of Paulette (Rissmiller) Fisher for the past 22 years. His first wife of 30 years, Margaret (Zook) Fisher died in 1990.
He served in the U.S. Army, worked for 30 years as a tool and die maker for RCA in Lancaster, and he actively volunteered for many years in the Penn Laurel Girl Scout Program with his first wife. A member of Zion Lutheran Church, Marietta, he was previously a member at Leola United Methodist Church. Chris loved nature, especially bird watching, and also thoroughly enjoyed playing golf.
Surviving besides his wife are three children: Dr. Anne F. Gossage (David) of Richmond, KY, John C. Fisher (Tammy) of Medford, NJ, and James S. Fisher (Meredith) of Mount Joy, PA; six grandchildren, Lauren Kile (Craig), Corey, Kira, Julia, Katherine and Rachel Fisher; two step-children, Christian Funck (Patricia) and Laura Rineer (Jeremiah) and three step-grandchildren, Kyle and Garrett Funck and Madeline Rineer. He is also survived by sisters Emma Koerner (Orie), Ruth Schrock, Lydia Martin (Leon) and Eva Hershey. Two brothers John and Amos and four sisters Mary, Sarah, Leah and Annie preceded him in death.
A viewing will be held at the Furman Home for Funerals, 59 W. Main St. Leola, PA on Friday, May 8, 2015, 6-8 p.m. The service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, 1290 River Road, Marietta on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Bareville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania, 350 Hale Ave. Harrisburg, PA 17104.
