Glenn A. Latschar, 86, of 103 Madison Dr., Leola, formerly of Witmer, passed into the presence of the Lord on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2025. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late E. Earl and Mabel Harnish Latschar. He was the loving husband of Ellen A. Singer Latschar with whom he celebrated their 64th anniversary last July.
Mr. Latschar was a meat cutter and butcher for the Kunzler Co. Lancaster retiring after 32 years. Later he worked for the Manheim Auto Auction for 20 years. He was a member of: Ephrata Reformed Presbyterian Church (past member of Salem Hellers); Mill Creek Sportsmen’s Assoc.; E. Lampeter Twp. Hunting Club, Tioga Co.; Elizabethtown and Northern Lanc. Co. Beagle Clubs; and the Witmer Fire Co. He loved the great outdoors, back-packing on the Appalachian Trail, hunting, fishing, and running marathons. He was very devoted to his family.
In addition to his wife, he will be lovingly missed by: two daughters, Christie married to Scott Gregg, Beaver Falls, Cathy married to Christopher Duffy, Ephrata; six grandchildren, Abbigail married to Adam Stauber, Karena married to Timothy Johnson, Jeremiah married to Lucy Gregg, Marianna married to Stephen Dennis, Alexander married to Kayleen Duffy, Evan Duffy fiance’ of Lauren; six great-grandchildren, Lanner, Harlan, Sidney, Owen, Elijah, Jacob; a sister-in-law, Lorraine Latschar, Witmer. A brother, Russell and a stillborn great-granddaughter, Jaelle preceded him in death.
The Memorial Service will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, 2025 at the Ephrata Reformed Presbyterian Church, 21 E. Locust St., Ephrata, PA 17522. Greeting time with the family will be after the service. Private Interment: Salem Hellers Cemetery. Memorial contributions welcomed to the church c/o the above address.
