James Irwin “Jim” Sell, 70, of Ephrata, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, February 28, 2015. He was the husband of Judy A. Grill Sell. They were married for 50 years this past September. Born in Johnstown, he was the son of the late Irwin and Irene K. Schwartz Sell.
A 1963 graduate of Garden Spot High School, Mr. Sell worked for Lawrence Industries in North Carolina and was a custodian at Lampeter-Strasburg High School. A Vietnam War Veteran, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1963 – 1967. Jim attended Manheim Mennonite Church. He enjoyed gardening and carving wooden boats.
He is also survived by: a son, Matthew James Sell, at home; a grandson, Garrett Isley; a son-in-law, Randy Isley, Burlington, NC; a brother, J. Arthur married to Susanne Sell, Ephrata. He was preceded in death by: a daughter, Louisa Ann Isley; a brother, James Robert Sell; a sister, Betty Jane Stoltzfus.
The memorial service will be on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Manheim Mennonite Church, 201 W. High Street, Manheim, PA 17545. The family will greet friends after the service. Interment of ashes will take place at the family’s convenience in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Memorial contributions are welcomed to Lebanon VA Hospice, 1700 S. Lincoln Ave., Lebanon, PA 17042.
