Janet Kurtz Greensmith, 86, of Lancaster, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2016 at Luther Acres. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Harry E. and Evelyn H. Eby Kurtz.
Janet taught at several elementary schools over the years, most recently at Tabernacle Christian School, Sarasota, FL. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church of Kissel Hill, Lititz and the Church Women’s Group. She loved teaching, gardening, reading, collecting and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Surviving are: four children: J. Eric (Kelly) Greensmith, Lancaster, Lynn Greensmith-Annino (Doug), Hereford, AZ, Nancy Jones (Rich), Travelers Rest, SC, K. Alan (Kitty) Greensmith, Atlanta, GA; 12 grandchildren; brother, Ken Kurtz (Rachel), Palmyra, PA. We will miss you!
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Elaine Greensmith.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Aug. 27, 2016 at 11 am at Salem Lutheran Church of Kissel Hill, 26 Owl Hill Rd., Lititz, PA 17543.The family will greet friends after the service. Kindly omit flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
