Lawrence K. Dommel, 61 of Leola passed away February 7th, 2022 at Lancaster General Hospital. He was the husband of Darlene J. (Wentzel), married 32 years on Virginia Beach.
Born in Fort Eustis, Virginia, he was the son of the late Lawrence W. Dommel and Mary (Hartman). He is also survived by two daughters, Sarah and Laura Dommel; siblings, Robert Dommel, Donna Prokay (Ron), Carolyn Andes (Robert); and nephews Nathaniel and Jeremy Andes.
Larry was a dedicated printer, retiring after 40 years at RR Donnelley. Raised as an Army brat – Larry lived all over the world, retaining all of it’s history. He graduated first in his class. He was filled with knowledge and always had an answer – whether you liked the answer or not. Larry loved driving the red F150 up and down the East Coast with his family beside him. He was a great singer and music lover. Larry was a self taught fisherman, and tried to spend every free moment at the water. He was a proud man and a great provider for his family, with wisdom beyond his years. If you were lucky enough to laugh with Larry, you know you will never forget that genuine sound. A loyal friend through and through – you knew you could always count on Larry. GO STEELERS! A life well lived and never forgotten. Interment will be in the Gulf of Mexico, FL.
The Memorial Service will be held on Saturday February 26th, 2022 at 2:30 p.m. at the Furman Home for Funerals, 59 W. Main St., Leola, PA. The family will greet friends from noon – 2:30 p.m. and also after the service.
