   Lois G. Landis, 101, died on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Landis Homes, Lititz, PA. She was the sixth of seven children born to Landis M. and Maude Rohrer Shertzer of Millersville. Lois was preceded in death by her siblings: Melvin, Rohrer, Paul, Irene, Ruth, and Elsie Shertzer. She shared 61 years of marriage with her husband, Abram D. Landis who died in 1996.

   Lois was a member of Mellinger Mennonite Church where she taught Sunday School for many years.

   She was a homemaker and a secretary for the family plumbing and heating business. Lois visited and encouraged friends and acquaintances who were ill and those unable to initiate visits. She was a member of the Happy Hearts, a friendship group of women and their spouses that met monthly for over 50 years and contributed to various community causes. She was also a member of the Melody Strings, a local musical ensemble. Listeners of WJTL's Kids Cookie Break, hosted by Lisa Landis, knew her as “Grandma Landis."

   She enjoyed braiding wool rugs and playing the harmonica. Many were on the receiving end of her homemade chocolate candies and other homemade treats.

   Lois was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by four sons, Robert (Lovis), Larry (Anne), Jerry (Mary Ann) and Carl (Deborah Laws), 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

   The family is grateful for the loving care given to Lois by the Landis Home staff and by Hospice & Community Care.

   A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, March 16 at 3:00 p.m. in the West Bethany Chapel at Landis Homes, preceded by a time of visitation from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. A private burial will be held at the Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
