Malinda B. Blank, 94, of the Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community formerly of Sarasota, FL and Strasburg, PA passed away on Friday, Jan. 12, 2018. Born in Kinzers, she was the daughter of the late Elam and Sadie Beiler Stoltzfus. Mrs. Blank was the wife of the late David S. Blank who died in 2002.
She was a licensed practical nurse doing private duty for a number of years. A member of the Sarasota Mennonite Church, she liked to knit, quilt and crochet. She and her husband spent two years working at an orphanage in Haiti.
She is survived by: four children, Elam married to Kathryn Farley Blank, Tulsa, OK, Nancy married to Albert Beyer, Quarryville, Allen married to Rhoda Denlinger Blank, Paradise, Ervin married to Donna Stauffer Blank, Lewisburg; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings, Emma married to the late Jacob Glick, Gordonville, Elmer married to Naomi Stoltzfus, Elsie married to Jonas Zook, both of Gap. A daughter, Naomi Blank and a sister, Lizzie Esh preceded her in death.
There will be a viewing at the Gordonville Community Bible Church, 234 Old Leacock Rd., Gordonville, PA on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018 at the Sarasota Mennonite Church, 1010 Coburn Rd., Sarasota, FL at 10 a.m. with viewing 9-10 a.m. Interment: Sunnyside Mennonite Cemetery, Sarasota.
