Mary Alice Martin, 85, formerly of Immokalee, FL, died at Landis Homes on June 22, 2017 after suffering many years with Parkinson’s disease. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Titus H. and Edna Sauder Martin.
She served 42 years as an administrative assistant at Village Oaks Elementary School, Immokalee, FL. Earlier she was a child care worker in Florida. She was a member of Blossom Hill Mennonite Church, Lancaster, and People’s Chapel in Immokalee.
Surviving are: siblings, Ben Martin (Mary Steffy), Rhoda Kunkel, Phebe Good (Don), Esther Lefever (Charles); sisters-in-law, Betsy Weber Martin Brackbill, Peggy Redcay Martin; cousins; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: 2 brothers, Isaac and Mark Martin; 2 sisters, Elizabeth “Betty” Martin, Naomi Martin Diffenbach; a sister-in-law, Ruth Martin.
The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Landis Homes for their years of care for Mary Alice.
A memorial service will be held from the Landis Homes East Bethany Chapel, 1001 E. Oregon Rd., Lititz, PA 17543 on Wednesday, June 28th at 7 pm. The family will visit with friends from 6 to 7 pm at the chapel on Wednesday. Private interment will be in Weaverland Mennonite Cemetery. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Landis Homes Caring Fund.
