Victor “Ponch” Robert Newborg Jr., 76, of Lancaster, PA, passed away peacefully on May 19th, 2024 after a brief battle with cancer.

Ponch was born in Chester, PA to Victor and Jean Bartley (Tussey) Newborg. He grew up on the Main Line where he enjoyed getting into mischief with his friends. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. A jack of all trades, Ponch held many jobs, including dental lab technician, accountant, and handyman. He had a huge heart and helped many people throughout his life. He was also quite the storyteller and loved drawing, playing the keyboard, and “playing” the steering wheel with his drumsticks. Above all, Ponch loved his family.

Ponch is survived by eight children and 14 grandchildren: Victor “Buffy” Newborg III; Lisa (Phil) Peterson; Chandra Walton and her children Camille, Charlie, and Elliott; Ed (Jessica) Newborg; Julien (Neris) Newborg and their children Joseph, Gabriel, and Julien Jr.; Brandon (Kristy) Newborg and their children Layla, Liam, and Lily; Brittany Newborg (Jordan Frey) and their children Nala and Dennis; and Christopher (Kayla) Newborg and their children Abrielle, Atticus, and Sophie; his siblings, Jean Eckman, Nancy Dines, William (Kate) Newborg, and JB (Tami) Newborg.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Ann (Boas) Newborg and granddaughter, Kylie.

A private family gathering will take place at a later date. His resting place, along with Peggy, is Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
