Xavier Wayne Massenberg, 48, of Lancaster passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2020. He was the son of the late Mary Marlene Mason and Charles Massenberg. Wayne was born in Washington, D.C.
At an early age, Wayne moved to Lancaster, PA and then relocated to Maryland with Daniel and Dorothy Boll. He enjoyed farming with extended family, Gary Boll. Wayne worked on cars, and did independent contracting as a driver. He wanted to further his education, so he applied to the Lancaster Campus of HACC.
Wayne was a great cook and loved hosting at home. He enjoyed music, nature, and football. Most of all, Wayne took pleasure in spending time with family; aunts, uncles, cousins, most recently Denise Miller of Chicago IL, Cynthia (Candy) Lavender of Lancaster, Jean Lavender of Philadelphia, PA and their children.
Wayne was grateful to God for his life journey. He loved the peacefulness of nature. He attended Conestoga Dr. Mennonite Church.
Wayne is survived by 2 siblings (mother’s children), Letitia and Michael; mother’s sister Maggie, a host of cousins including, Denise, Tanya, Cynthia, Chuck, Shawna, Derrick, Shakira(Pete Amare), and Jaqui.
Funeral services will be held from the Conestoga Drive Mennonite Church, 20 N. Conestoga Dr., Lancaster, on Thursday, February 6, 2020 at 2 pm with interment following in Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 to 2 pm at the church on Thursday.
